Recipe for Ohagie

Food Report for the 19th of November 2016.

Ohagie : (for your sugar addicted friends that want a desert instead of a meat)

Ingredients:
900g of Kidney beans.
400g of sugar.
½ tbsp of salt.
Rice, a lot of rice around 6 cup of rice.

Note:

Making the Bean Paste
Step MtBP – 1 :  In a large pan boil all the kidney beans with water.

Step MtBP – 2 :  The water will change color because of the beans. Remove the water and boil more water with the kidney beans in. You should boil the bans in this water for 2 hours.

Step MtBP – 3 : Redo Step MtBP – 2 3 more times. The more you change the water the less coloration they water will take less and less color.

Step MtBP – 4 : Once the beans are cooked, mashed them and add the sugar and salt. You should mash them until all the ingredients are well mixed.

Making the Rice
Step MtR – 1 : In a pressure cooker add all the rice with the same volume of water.

Step MtR – 2 : Once the steam is trying to find a way out of the cooker, let it cook for 15 minutes and then let it rest for another 15 minutes.

Building the Ohagi
Step BtO – 1 : Take a small ball of rice and shape, using your hands, an egg. Like a sushi.

Step BtO – 2 : Cover the ball of rice with the bean paste. The ball should be almost completely cover.

Step BtO – 3 : Serve your guest that sticky balls of rice,  and let them eat it.

I really like Mochis. This dish reminded me of them and are very different abut also similar at the same time. The bean paste is very sweet, so everyone should like them. It like a desert, a sweet that you can eat as a meal.
