Engineering Report – October 20th

3D printer:
We successfully made the 3D printer work today. Its far from being 
perfect especially from the firsts layer, but near the end it look 
pretty good. Next time we will try to make a fully successful print of 
the test.

The reason the printer didn’t work before was the nozzle was 
completely blocked. We use a rather powerful technique to clear it. We 
undid the nozzle and melted the PLA stuck inside with heat and 
punching the exit hole with a needle. At the end we were able to claim 
it was clean form obstruction once we could see trough.

The reason the firsts layers didn’t print properly was probably 
because the first layer didnt hold right in the plate, the glue was 
probably too dry.

We will keep cleaning the other colors some other day soon.
